GOP Group Woos Miss California for Gubernatorial Run

SACRAMENTO (Disassociated Press) April 21, 2009 – While Miss California Carrie Prejean's comments regarding her opinion on same sex marriage might have cost her the Miss USA title, the response may have opened the door to her for another possible gig

When asked during the pageant about her opinion on other states following the lead of the states that have legally recognized same sex marriage, Ms. Prejean replied that she viewed marriage as being between a man and a woman.   There has been speculation that the answer cost her the title.

"We feel that Ms. Prejean's values reflect the values of traditional Americans; and, in light of the citizens of California's recent rejection of same sex marriage at the ballot box, we're looking into the possibility of launching a campaign for Ms. Prejean to seek the Republican gubernatorial nomination," stated Rock Hammer, head of the California chapter of the National Organization of Affiliates for Nuptials Associated with Legacy (NOANAL).

"I'm flattered by their consideration of me for Governor of California, and I'm definitely interested in the prospect of running," Ms. Prejean commented when approached regarding the subject.  "Finally, I might get the chance for somebody to just ask me about my opinion on world peace."
