Promotions Company Given Credit for ‘Hot’ Halloween Get-Up

NEW YORK – (Disassociated Press) October 27, 2006 – Marketing and promotions consultant, Pitch & Ketch, has made headlines again for yet another marketing and promotions triumph.

“One of our oldest and best clients, Tomb Town Toys, which specializes in creepy and ghoulish novelties, games and costumes for kids and has been having some trouble in the creativity department lately, came to us earlier this year, and asked us to come up with a ‘winner’ costume for Halloween,” explained the bi-coastal consulting sage’s Senior Associate Studs Bangum from it’s East Coast offices.

“We went to the brainstorming drawing board to run some ideas up the flagpole, and got to thinking ‘what do kids want to do most?’  The answer, is, of course, exactly the opposite of what they’re told is good for them.”

Hence, the birth of this year’s hottest Halloween costume – Dry Leaves and Straw with Gasoline.  “All of their lives, these kids have heard advisements to their parents every Halloween about being sure that costumes are fire resistant or fire retardant,” reported Bangum, “So what kid wouldn’t want to wear the most incendiary looking costume imaginable?

”The costume looks exactly like its name – a pile of dry leaves and straw, with a gasoline can, which the kid uses to collect Halloween treats,” reported Bangum.  “Of course, the material is 100% fire proof.”

This is the second major marketing “home run” for Pitch & Ketch within about the last year.  In September of 2005, the firm launched a highly successful campaign for a number of clients which borrowed the four hour erection advisement associated with Erectile Dysfunction medications and applied the warning to a number of non-ED related products primarily consumed by men (see Four Hour Erection Warning to be Given for Broad Range of Products, The Disassociated Press, September 25, 2005).

“We’re proud of our latest achievement, and are very much looking forward to the product launches we have scheduled for the upcoming Holiday Season,” concluded Bangum.
