Palin's Gibson Interview Raises Questions of Plagiarism

WASHINGTON (Disassociated Press) September 13, 2008 - Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin's recent interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson, her first since being touted as the GOP running mate by Presidential Nominee John McCain, is beginning to raise questions that the Alaskan Governor may have committed plagiarism in a speech she gave at a church.

When questioned by Gibson about a statement she had made during the speech about prayer, Palin attributed the statement to Abraham Lincoln, but apparently hadn't cited Lincoln during the speech itself.

"To Alaskan church goers, this wouldn't have been a really big deal," reported University of Alaska Professor of Sociology Bartholomew J. Sneed.  "That audience would have generally considered things like making citations and attributions as being pompous and gratuitous."

Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee Joe Biden was quick to respond.  "This is a very serious situation, and I'm sure Neil Kinnock would agree with me, if you asked him," stated Biden.
