Tara Conner Plays ‘Trump’ Card against 'The Donald,' Scholar Claims

LOS ANGELES (Disassociated Press) February 2, 2007 – Bartholomew J. Sneed, Professor of Popular Culture at the Norman Lear Center at the Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism at the University of Southern California, is claiming that Donald J. Trump, current proprietor of the Miss U.S.A. Pageant, had no choice but to refrain from telling reigning queen Tara Conner of Kentucky “you’re fired” when the subject of Ms. Conner’s potential dismissal for underage drinking and other “inappropriate behavior” had become a topic for national discussion last December.

Ms. Conner is back in the headlines for recent statements made to Matt Lauer on NBC’s The Today Show about her use of cocaine and her sexual indiscretions, in addition to her use of alcohol.

“By the time her behavior was making headlines late last year, Ms. Conner had already become a national household name, with the ability to parley her celebrity into big pay days with or without Donald Trump,” explains Professor Sneed.  “So – what was The Donald to do?  Let her go, and forego the significant potential vig (vigor age, the term used to describe the “kick up” practiced by the Mafia and the Holy Roman Church)?”

Ms. Conner’s reign has been marked by trouble since the night of her crowning, when the mainstream media mistook her for ‘Sarah Connor,’ the fictitious heroine of The Terminator movies (starring current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger), who was portrayed in the films by actress Linda Hamilton (see Apocalyptic Princess Claims Miss USA Crown, The Disassociated Press, April 28, 2006).
